The loss of natural teeth can greatly compromise the general health and functionality of the mouth and the person. To restore normal speech and eating habits, as well as to prevent the misaligning of remaining teeth, it is important to replace lost teeth. Replacement options include partial or full dentures, bridges and implants. Horizon Dental offers all of these treatment options based on your specific treatment and financial needs.
For patients with full or partial removable dentures, our experienced team can guide you in caring for your dentures to help them to last longer and help you feel more comfortable when you wear them. We will complete the entire process of getting your denture ready and fitted in a time and cost-effective way. We can also help you care for your teeth in general and prevent future oral problems.
For patients where finances are a barrier to dental care, we offer an interest-free short term finance program. Contact us today.
Traditional Removable partial dentures consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored acrylic bases, connected to a metal framework. They attach to your natural teeth with metal clasps. Special crowns can be placed on teeth to allow precision attachments which are more aesthetic than metal clasps because they are nearly invisible. A partial denture may be used when nearby teeth are not strong enough to hold a bridge, when many teeth are missing in a single arch or for financial reasons. Snap on Smile is a newer cosmetic partial that covers all the natural teeth so it gives the appearance of a much more expensive crown and bridge appliance.
A full denture, sometimes called “false teeth,” resembles the partial denture in that it, too, is composed of replacement teeth embedded in gum-colored acrylic. Unlike the partial denture, however, the full denture does not usually contain metal. Full dentures provide a valuable prosthodontic option for patients who are missing all of their teeth in a single arch. Horizon Dental uses digital technology to provide esthetic and well-fitting dentures. If you are wanting to replace an existing denture, digital imaging and fabrication can closely reproduce the denture you have grown accustom to wearing. Implant retained dentures are also available for those with implants or looking to have implants placed.

Rinse Dentures After Meals
Removing and rinsing your dentures after eating will ensure that they are clean and have no food stuck in them.
Handle With Care
Dentures are delicate. Make sure you care for them and do not attempt to bend or fold them. Any adjustments required must be done by the dentist in the office.
Clean Your Mouth Regularly
Brush your teeth at least once a day and clean your mouth with a soft-bristled toothbrush on a regular basis. Ideally, this should be done every time you remove your dentures. You should also clean your tongue and inner cheek. Also, rinse your mouth and ensure it is clean before putting it in your dentures.
Soak your dentures in water or in a mild denture-soaking solution overnight so that they stay soft and hydrated and thus, maintain their shape.
Get Regular Checkups
Regular visits to your dentist will ensure that your denture remains effective and comfortable.
